The journey of fuel

The Globe Air Fuel company ensures that there is no shortage of aviation fuel in any corner of the country. Fumigation planes, aviation schools, Air Patrol, helicopters, air ambulances, among others, have been able to carry out their missions thanks to the work of this company.

The road is long. A tanker must travel almost 600 kilometers to deliver aviation fuel both to fumigation companies in Casanare, the banana area and Carepa, as well as to companies that carry out work in remote and jungle places. The vehicle must leave from the Barrancabermeja refinery (Santander) and travel on complicated roads. This task in Colombia is a journey and patient work, which is why few companies take on the mission. Globe Air Fuel, a company with Colombian capital, is one of

they. It was born in 1997 as an operator of the Terpel Organization at the El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, and currently continues to be an ally and marketer of this company, which allows it to have a presence in most of the country’s airports. In addition, it has extended its operations to the Guaymaral Airport, in Bogotá, and, over the years, in seeking to reach the regions, it brought its services to the airports of Mariquita and Flandes, in Tolima department.

With the aim of reaching remote regions of the country, Globe Air Fuel installed each of its mobile service stations. Precisely, thanks to its ability to reach remote places, Globe Air Fuel has had the opportunity to accompany the Colombian Air Force, the Colombian National Police and the Colombian Civil Aeronautics through the supply of AV GAS and JET A1 Y fuel. In 2018, faced with the needs of other remote corners of the country, the company decided to transport aviation fuel to them. To achieve this, it installed mobile service stations in each of its operations. These comply with the strict safety and quality standards of airports, both in the middle of a forest and in a desert area. The necessary fuel is transported in company trucks, with stainless steel tanks and operated by specialized personnel. Thus, the company has reached from La Guajira to Tumaco, and to the municipalities of Casanare.

Also to Zipaquirá, in the Cundinamarca´s mountains, where it supplied passenger helicopter flights to promote tourism; and to Tarazá and Valle de Toledo, in Antioquia, to support the transportation of materials to Hidroituango. «What we do is fundamental for regional development.

We contribute, for example, with the work of fumigating banana crops in the north of the country; and rice fields in Meta and Casanare. In addition, we encourage the arrival of basic services because we support companies that install electrical networks, as well as entities that provide humanitarian services in remote places, such as the Air Patrol,” concludes Miguel Ángel Ponce, manager of Globe Air Fuel.
